Santa Clause is coming to town!

Waiting patiently in line to see Santa!..

Me and my Grandma!

She wasn't sure about him at first...

But she quickly warmed up to him...

And even told him that she wanted pacis, toys, formula, and diapers for Christmas! He said he would see what his elf's could do!

Our Thanksgiving Day!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday! We all slept in (thank you Caroline for letting mommy and daddy get an extra hour of sleep!) and then we made waffles for breakfast! After breakfast, we got ready and went to my parents house to hang out for the day. Last night, we went to my brothers house for the Thanksgiving meal. It was so yummy!!! My brother smoked a turkey and between my granny and my mom we had all of the trimmings to go along with it! Even Caroline enjoyed the meal! After we ate, my niece and nephew were so excited to show Caroline all of their toys....and they all gave us a fashion show!!! None the less we had a great time hanging out together. Here are some pics from our night!

This next pic cracks me up! It looks like she was saying the blessing with us!!!

Teething + no nap =

She's even cute when she's mad!!!

10 months old

Caroline, you are 10 months old today. Mommy and daddy can’t get over how quickly you have grown up and that in 2 short months you will a year old. You are such a beautiful little girl and we thank God everyday for allowing us to be your parents. Here’s what you are up to these days…

You love your bathtime…it’s become one of the favorite parts of your day!

You eat 3 stage 2 fruits and veggies a day with yogurt, meat, puffs, and 3-4 7oz bottles

You say “Ma-Ma” all the time but have yet to say “Da-da”….it kind of hurts dads feelings but we all know one day you’ll say his name!

You love waving to people and saying “bye-bye”

You are wearing 9m clothes but will soon be wearing 12m sizes

You sleep all night in your room from 7:30pm-7:00am. You’ve always been a wonderful sleeper and we hope you keep it up!

At home you take 2-3 naps during the day….At daycare you don’t sleep but about 30 minutes during a 10 hour day. I guess it’s because you have too many friends to be playing with…who knows!

Your paci is your best friend. You always have to have it and we don’t leave home without it. Mommy is already dreading the day she has to take it away from you.

You also love holding onto a little blanket…too cute!

You have 2 bottom teeth.

You are crawling all over the place and love to pull yourself up. You can’t yet stand by yourself but you are very close!

You laugh and squeal when someone plays peek-a-boo with you

You are the best shopper. I always have people comment about how good you are in your stroller or in a cart. You love to just look around at everything and everyone.

We love watching you grow and learn new things around you. You are an absolute joy to be around and we miss you every second we are away from you! We love you!

Benefits of shopping with my Grandma!

Today Caroline and I met up with my mom at Mall of Georgia to shop for a holiday dress for my work Christmas party. I asked mom to tag along with me because it's hard to shop and try on things by myself with a 9 month old. Don't get me wrong...Caroline is the BEST shopper and doesn't hardly make a peep but it's much easier to get things done with another set of hands on deck! We had a good time and found some good deals! We ran into Santa a couple of times and had a few other cute "picture moments" but I forgot my camera...go figure! Caroline loves for Grandma to tag along because grandma is such a sucker for buying her things. We let Caroline do her first build-a-bear and she loved it! (again, would have been a good time to have a camera!!!) She got a moose and she sings "Frosty the snowman". Caroline really loves Mickey and Minnie right now. Everytime she see's them on TV she goes nuts so when we walked into JCPenny and saw these big Christmas Mickey and Minnie she was smiling from ear to ear. It also sings "Here comes Santa Clause". So cute! I'm so ready to start putting up my Christmas decorations. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I can't wait to see the look on Caroline's face once we get everything put up. I have so many memories of Christmas as a child and I can't wait to start some of the same traditions with Caroline.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday everyone!!! Work has been so busy this week so I'm ready for the weekend to be here so I can relax! I have no new pictures to post since I've been so busy this week...haven't had time to snap a few of my cutie! I thought I would update on what is going on in our lives these days! Caroline is sick yet again. I picked her up on Wednesday from daycare and she felt extremely hot so I checked her temp when I got home and it was 103. I was determined that it was still her ears since we've had so much trouble with getting them to clear up. Since Blake was off on Thursday, he took her to the dr's office. They said that she has a viral infection and we will have to let it run it's course. She also has bumps in the back of her throat so she's got a sore throat....guess that's why eating and drinking her bottles have been so difficult lately! Daddy stayed home with her again today since I had a lot to catch up on at work. I'm hoping after resting for a couple of days that the fever will go away. More importantly, I'm ready for Caroline to get out of this every other week sickness.

Our good news is my mom went for her 2 week follow up appointment and she found out that the cancer did not spread!!! I am so excited for her. She has been through a lot this year and hearing 4 weeks ago that she had cancer was not the news any of us wanted to hear. But thankfully after 2 surgeries, the dr's were able to remove it all and she is cancer free. We are thanking God for answering our many many prayers and for allowing mom to have such a great outcome!

Have a great weekend! I promise to put some pics up soon.

Grocery store fun!

Watch out grandma...there's a new cook in town!!!

Caroline and I went to the grocery store after work today. I usually hate dragging her to the store on Monday's because she is so tired and worn out from daycare and usually falls asleep by the time we pull into Publix, it's already dark outside, and it makes us get home at the time she normally goes to bed. But since we had a busy Saturday and Sunday, we had to go tonight. She was soooo good and such a flirt with everyone. She made friends with the deli workers, the pharmacist, cashier, and bag boy. She loved checking everything out that I was putting in the cart..her favorite thing was the dough roller.

I also finally got a picture of her two adorable teeth! I love this little girl so much and thank God everyday for allowing me to be her mommy!!!

Going back in time...

Here are some family pictures from this past July. Yes, I know July has long past us but since I didn't have my blog during those days I thought I would post some of my favorite pictures now. Caroline was 6 months old in these pictures.

Bath time

Caroline LOVES bath time. We recently took out her "spa bathtub" that she used as an infant and let her take a bath in the "big" tub. She loves splashing and crawling around with all of her bath friends.

This next picture is funny...we have alphabet letters that we let her play with in the tub and every night she will grab a letter and just hold it in her mouth. I'm assuming it feels good on her swollen gums...who knows but I cracks Blake and I up!!!

After bath time we put on our PJ's and read a few books.

And then Caroline falls fast asleep...every little girl has to get her beauty sleep!!!

On the go

So I have totally underestimated Caroline's ability to crawl. She has been crawling for awhile now but has never been fast at it. When she first started crawling, she would just do the military crawl with one arm but recently she has learned how to get on all fours to get around. But even on all fours, she seemed to get around slowly....or so I thought! Our night routine consists of getting home, eating dinner, bath and then bed. Usually when we go upstairs to start bath time I would let her play with her toys on the floor while I put water in the bath tub and get her PJ's ready, etc and she would stay in that one spot the entire time. Last night I sat her on the floor and went to the bathroom to start her water and turned around and there she was just standing up holding onto the cabinet doors. I couldn't get over how quickly she had crawled in there....and she was very proud of herself too! So now the fun begins!!! So to prepare for her being all over the place...daddy installed this.

Guess it's time to baby proof the rest of my house!

Moving on up!

Caroline is finally in her big girl carseat. Of course mommy's car has the pink carseat and daddy wanted the "boy" version...which is brown. I agreed b/c if we ever have more kids and end up with a son then we'll already have a carseat for him! (wayyy down the road)

Here she is riding in her new seat for the first time:

We all had a great weekend. On Saturday, Caroline and I met up with some of our friends and their babies at Webb Bridge Park for a pinic. The weather was perfect...it was such a nice day to get out and get some fresh air. Caroline had so much fun catching up with all of her friends...and so did mommy! I love getting together with the girls. I don't have any pics though b/c I forgot my camera. I thought all morning before leaving to get my camera but of course ran out of the house without it...hopefully one day I'll remember everything that we need!

I ended up staying home with Caroline today because she was running a fever yesterday and hasn't seemed to be feeling any better. I took her back to the dr for an ear check up and the dr said her ears are finally starting to look better. I did ask about tubes and they said that she has to have 6 ear infections in a row. We are on number 4 so we'll see. This new antibiotic that she is on has done a number on her tummy. I just hate that she has to continue to take the medicine but hopefully she'll be better by the end of the week. Since we got to stay home today Caroline had fun destroying her room with all of her toys.

I've also been trying so hard to get a picture of her two new teeth but she won't let me. Her top gums are very swollen so I'm expecting to see teeth up there soon too.

Have a great week!

Still Sick

The last few days Caroline has been so fussy, grabbing at her ears, and was wheezing. So Blake and I made the decision to take her back into the dr's office for a re-check on her ears (she was just there last week with double ear infection) to make sure they were healing....and guess what?!? She still has a double ear infection. They gave us a stronger antibiotic this time so hopefully she'll start to feel better in a few days. This is her 3rd ear infection in 2 months and she's been on the same antibiotic for all three of them so I think her body is getting immune to it. If she keeps having ear infections then we are going to have to look at doing tubes. Poor baby:(

She did get to stay home with daddy all day today and it sounds like they had a blast. They slept till 9:00 and then went for a walk to enjoy the beautiful weather we've been having. Blake loves having Thursday's off because it gives him bonding time with Caroline. She is usually asleep by the time he gets home from work during the week so Thursday's allow them time to catch up from missing each other!

Other news...Caroline is moving on up to a big girl carseat soon. Blake and I bought one for my car and tried it out tonight and it worked perfectly so I am going to order one for his car (since he takes her to daycare) and then we'll be set!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Caroline and I are meeting up with some of our friends at the park on Saturday and then we are going to Cleveland to check on grandma/grandpa on Sunday.

Update on the Owen family

Since this is one of my first posts I thought I would update everyone on what's new in our lives these days. Caroline is growing so fast and I can't get over that she's already 9 months old. I still can't believe that in 3 short months she will be a year old. She has finally learned how to crawl but still isn't interested in crawling fast. She prefers standing and holding onto the furniture. She LOVES crawling under our coffee table and pulling everything off of it. She is only in the 19% percentile for weight...she's 17lbs! She's going to be my little peanut! She's wearing 9m clothes but it won't be long before I'm having to buy her 12m. She doesn't like wearing shoes but I love her cute shoes so I constantly struggle with her to get her to keep them on! She eats 4 7 ounce bottles a day with one stage 2 fruit, one stage 2 veggie, and yogurt. I've tried to get her to eat more but she just isn't interested. She also eats fruit puffs everyday and if I would let her she would eat the entire container....she LOVES them! She's also starting to drink applejuice from a sippy cup! I can already tell it's going to be a hard transition to get her to switch from a bottle to a sippy cup....I'm open to any suggestions! Some of the other foods she's tried are green beans, pasta, meats, and cheese. She loves bathtime and her daddy swears she's going to be a swimmer! He might be right...she loves kicking and splashing! We've struggled to keep her healthy...the poor thing has battled 3 ear infections and hands-foot-mouth disease. We are hoping for healthier days ahead!

Other than watching Caroline grow, Blake and I are busy working and keeping up with household chores! I feel like I always have a long to do list ahead of me but we somehow manage to get everything done!

In closing, I'll post a few pics since I know that's what most of you probably want to see anyway!!!

This is Caroline in her favorite spot...the middle of our coffee table!

Here's Caroline and daddy before her baby dedication in September!

Here she is furniture cruising!

All worn out from church!
