It's been awhile....

...since I've written anything on the blog! Honestly, everyday last week I thought about blogging but had nothing new or fun to blog about. It was a pretty busy week for us and we had a fun relaxing weekend. We are getting ready to leave next week for Savannah. I can't wait. We had planned to be gone for an entire week but my boss had a brain aneurysm the beginning of August and won't be back to work for months so I hated to leave my co-worker hanging by herself for an entire week so we will only be gone for 4 days now. I can't wait to see my aunt and take Caroline to the beach for the first time.

All dressed up for church...she wasn't quite awake yet, though! We went to the early church and literally got her up, gave her a quick breakfast and were out the door!

Speaking of ears, Caroline had an ENT follow up appt last week. The dr said her ear tubes look great and are still in the right place. She goes back in December for her year follow up appointment. All week last week she was very congested but I kept calling it teething because she was getting 2 new teeth in. While at the ENT, they checked her over, tested her for strep b/c her throat apparently looked awhile. She tested negative so they determined that she had a bad sinus infection. Guess I won't be getting the mommy of the year award. But I swear when we take her to the dr b/c we think somethings wrong they tell us it's just teething. It's so hard to know which is which sometimes. I guess my clue was the sleepless nights we had 4 days in a row due to her coughing.

She had a "fit" about having to go inside after playing around outside on the slide and threw herself on the floor coming up my parents steps. Well when she fell she started crying. I picked her up to hug her and realized she had blood on her shirt. I looked at her face and her mouth was bleeding. She busted her lip yet again. Poor baby. Here's the best shot I could get of the fat lip (please ignore the awlful snotty nose). This was about an hour after it happened. It looked much better today...thank goodness!



That about wraps our our last week and weekend! I promise not to wait another week before blogging!

Park Playdate

Today, Caroline and I met up with some of our friends at Sims Park. It was the first time that Caroline and I had been to that park and we really enjoyed it. I loved the walking trail that they have and Caroline loved the playground. We will be back there in the near future for sure! It was nice visiting with our buddies today. Here's some pics of our fun on the playground...













It was so hot today!!! We got to the park early thinking we could beat the heat but the heat beat us! By 11:00 we all were drenched in sweat so we came home. Caroline fell asleep in the car on the way home and ended up taking a 3 1/2 hour nap. She was worn out from playing so hard with her buddies!!!

Lately...

I just realized that I haven't posted anything in awhile since the Campmeeting posts. Maybe it's because nothing new is going on right now or that I don't have anything fun to post about...who knows?!?

Caroline started in a new room this week at daycare. I'm really excited for her because she's learning a lot but the other part of me is sad b/c it's just another reminder of how fast she is growing!

She comes home saying new things all of the time. And she's acting like she's getting closer to start potty training too because she will tell me that she's just peed or pooped after she goes in her diaper. I must say that I'm NOT ready for this phase. I've been dreading potty training for months now. Hopefully she'll be somewhat easy to train.

We also are 6 months away from taking her paci away. Her dr said that it is fine for her to have her paci until she's 2. He said that it wasn't affecting her teeth or anything like that so to let her have it until we are ready to take it away. I'm thinking I'll just go cold turkey when we do decide to do it. That's what we did for her bottle and it was a breeze. Now, I don't by any means think that removing the paci is going to be a breeze but I do believe in the whole "out of sight out of mind" theory. It will probably take her a few days to get used to it but hopefully she'll forget about it!

Other than that, Blake and I have just been busy working and keeping up with our very busy toddler! We are planning on going to Savannah in a few weeks for our 4 year anniversary. I'm really excited and am looking forward to eating some yummy southern food!

And because I don't want to write a boring post with no picture, here's a cute picture of Caroline with Blake's dad. Blake's parents came over last weekend to see Caroline. In this picture, Caroline and granddaddy were watching the video that we had done of her at campmeeting. Caroline loves watching herself on TV!

Campmeeting 2010- Saturday

Saturday was the last day for us but Sunday is the official last day for campmeeting. Saturday was FULL of activites.

Here we are ready to go to the campground. I'm looking a little rough and tired!


We started off the childrens program with a cute balloon release. Each kid wrote a message that included their name, address, email, etc and put it in a plastic bag and tied it to the balloon. Each year we do this and we always have someone that responds back saying they received out balloon. How cool is that? So here were are releasing our balloons.







Later in the afternoon the kids did slip-n-slide. This isn't just any slip-n-slide folks...it's an awesome slip-n-slide! They get a HUGE slide that looks like a trash bag and put baby shampoo and about 3-4 water hoses. It is always a hit with the kids. I wasn't planning on letting Caroline participate but she was dying to get wet so Blake took her. She loved it. We have a little dare devil on our hands!




After the slip-n-slide, Caroline just crashed. She slept for over 3 hours.


Each Saturday the kids do a program to show what they've practiced all week. We all wear our campmeeting t-shirts. This year the shirts were so cute and were so true. The back says, "Loudsville Campmeeting...hard to explain but I love to tell the story". So true, campmeeting is so hard to explain to others but I love to tell everyone about our wonderful campmeeting moments!






After the Saturday church service, the campground hosted smores and a bonfire. Here we are enjoying a delicious smore! It wouldn't be campmeeting without a smore!






So that wraps up my posts of Campmeeting. I hope you've enjoyed reading about all of our fun! It is truly such a fun week...even if it is busy! The kids really learned a lot this year and were so excited about receiving their own personal Bibles. Our theme this year was "I love to tell the story" and each night we had someone give their testimony. It was amazing to see how God works in people! I really enjoyed hearing the wonderful preaching and singing that we had all week long! Next year, you should join us!!!

Campmeeting 2010- Friday

Friday morning we decided to sleep in and skip the children's program. We were all so tired so it was a nice change in the routine! Shortly after waking up and eating breakfast, Caroline decided she wanted grandma to give her a pedicure. All girls have to have good looking toes!



I had scheduled Caroline's 18 month dr's appt for that Friday since I was already off from work so we drove to Cumming for her appt. She was such a ham for the dr and he said she is talking well above what she should be for right now. He said she talks more like a 2 year old instead of a 1 year old. That made me so proud! I owe most of it to daycare though b/c they really work hard with her and do flash cards with her all day long. The dr checked out her war wounds from campmeeting and thought everything would heal quickly! I was praying he wouldn't think that we abuse her! Here's her stats from her 18 month visit:

Height: 30.50; 19th percentile
Weight: 20lbs 11oz; 6th percentile (she's going to be a shrimp!)

Caroline had on the cutest mini skirt. I tried so hard to get a cute pic of it but it's hard to get a toddler to stand still. This was the best I could do!


After the dr's visit we went to campmeeting, had dinner, and tried to go to church but Caroline didn't have patience to sit very long so I ended up sitting with her on the porch. My mom had made Kendall and Caroline matching dresses for them to wear during campmeeting. They were adorable!

We had planned to stay at the tent Friday night but at 10:30pm it was still in the 80's and so humid. We were all dripping in sweat so we decided to go on to my parents house and sleep in the air contitioned house! That wraps up our fun Friday!!!
