Ear tubes here we come!

From the title of this post you have probably guessed that Caroline will soon be getting her ear tubes and they can't come soon enough! We took her to the ENT this morning and she has a double ear infection AGAIN. He said her ears look awlful and are filled with fluid and wax. She also didn't do well in the hearing test so he said ear tubes is the best option! Her surgery will be on December 23rd at the outpaient surgery center for Scottish Rite. Blake and I loved the ENT dr and feel very confident that he will do a great job!

I'm just ready for our little girl to get better. She's had a rough couple of weeks and can't seem to get any better. If it's not one thing its another with her lately. So, to try and help that we are keeping her home from daycare the rest of this week and all of next week. I'm hoping that maybe being away from all of the extra germs, her little system can get well. A big thank you to her grandparents and even great grandparents for pitching in to help watch her while Blake and I work. I love you all and we could not get through these tough times without your help! Blake and I are blessed with such wonderful family memebers that truly support us in all that we do!

Sorry for no new pics...several of you have been asking for some but Caroline has been so sick and not in a picture taking mood lately so I don't have any new ones to post. Hopefully this weekend we can get a few for you!

Starting to recover!

So, I think I can safely say that our family is starting to recover after one of the worst weekends yet of being sick. To sum it all up I had to have a trip to the immediate care for an upper respiratory infection, Blake caught Caroline's stomach bug, and Caroline couldn't quite get over the stomach bug so we ended up taking her to Scottish Rite last night to make sure she wasn't getting dehydrated. I santized our house like crazy on Saturday so hopefully all of the germs will leave us alone for at least a week!

My work Holiday party was on Saturday (great timing for us!). I've been working hard at work to prepare for this party. My company throws a huge party and it's a fun night to get all dressed up and basically act like you are at prom again!!! There was a DJ, buffet, open bar, and some of the dr's put on a funny skit (this year was Michael Jackson...it was too funny!). Even though Blake and I weren't feeling so hot, we managed to go and be there for a few hours! I didn't take my camera with me so I don't have any pictures from the night but Blake and I did have a good time getting dressed up and out of our "sick" house for awhile! My mom was so kind as to offer to keep Caroline for us. Since our house had been infected with sickness, we thought it would be a nice change for Caroline to go and stay with my mom and dad at their house. She had a good time...even though her tummy was still a little upset. She LOVES getting spoiled by her grandparents! Blake and I didn't realize how much we would miss her. I still can't get over how attached you get and how much love you can have for such a small person! When we got home from the party it felt wierd not having Caroline at the house or having to listen to the baby monitor all night to make sure she's still breathing. She's been away from home one other time when Blake had his surgery but we sure did miss her! Here's some pictures I took of her before she left our house on Saturday. I had her all bundled up...it was so cold and windy!!!

BTW...my Christmas shopping is done so I'm ready to enjoy our holiday season! I need to start planning Caroline's 1st birthing in the next week or so. We are only about 6 weeks away from her being one. Where or where does the time go?!?

A Mother's love!

I wish I had something new to write about b/c I know you are getting so tired of hearing that our family is sick but I simply don't. I'm going to tell it how it is! Our family (minus Blake) has been on a roller coaster with sickness this week and I'm honestly sooo ready for it to be over with. Caroline started us off a week ago today with a double ear infection and was put on an antibiotic that gave her a horrible upset tummy. On Monday, I came home from work feeling like I had been hit by a truck and felt awlful. I stayed home Tuesday and Wednesday and pretty much slept the entire time hoping to get rid of the viral infection I had. On Thursday, Blake called me saying that Caroline had thrown up all day and wasn't herself so we took her back to the dr only to find out that she now has the stomach virus. She is sooo pitiful too. It just breaks my heart. I'm still not feeling well at all but have to be a work because we are having our Holiday party tomorrow night and I am helping with organizing most of it. I'm just praying that God will lift all of the sickness from Caroline and I and that we will start to feel better soon. It's the hardest thing to see your child sick and knowing that you can't do much to help her. It's hard to understand unless you are a parent how much you can love someone and how they steal your heart away when they look at you and you know they feel awlful. I just hate that there isn't much I can do for her and I hate even worse that I couldn't stay home with her. I'm just praying that she starts feeling better today and that my little girl will be back to her normal self!

It's my turn!

I haven't been feeling great for a couple of days and last night I can home from work, put Caroline to bed and went to bed myself at 8:20pm. I didn't sleep well all night and when I got up I had a fever and felt like I had been hit by a truck. Needless to say, I didn't make it to work. I ended up going to the dr to make sure I didn't have the flu (that's the LAST thing Caroline needs at this point!). The dr said I have a viral infection...not suprised b/c Caroline had it 2 weeks ago. So, I've been home all day sleeping it off. I'm really ready for our entire family to be well...for at least just one week! I hated having to ask off from work b/c I've had to ask off so much for Caroline recently but there was no way I could have gone in today. I do have to say that Blake has been a WONDERFUL hubby with me being sick. He got Caroline dressed, fed and off to school this morning and has offered to pick her up from daycare so that I don't have to leave the house...and even has offered to cook dinner!(I may have to take him up on that!)

In closing, here's a funny picture of Caroline that Blake took last week when he was home with her. Our poor little girl did not feel good and was worn out!

Tough Day!

Caroline had a rough day yesterday. About 10:00am, I got a call from the daycare and they said that she had a boo boo. Of course, as a mom I freak out! They go on to tell me that she was climbing the rocking chair and slipped and fell and hit her eye on the bottom part of the chair. They iced it and doctored it right away. It didn't look as bad as I had thought but it still breaks your heart for your child to get hurt and you not be there to comfort her.

I left work around 3:00 to go and get her to take her to the dr because I had a feeling that she might have another ear infection (she's been tugging at her ears and she started running a fever that morning). And much to my gut instinct she had a double ear infection. Since this is her 5th ear infection, they referred me to an ENT specialist for tubes. I've got to call them on Monday and schedule an appointment. In the meantime, Caroline is on a new antibiotic to get rid of the infection.

To end our day, my in-laws came over to watch Caroline for us while Blake and I went to the movies. It was the first time we have gone to the movies since we got married. We went to see Blind Side and it was Awesome! The best part of this is I had 2 free tickets so we didn't have to spend a dime!

Another year older...and wiser!

So today I am 27 years old. I keep teasing Blake b/c this is how old he was when we got married! I honestly don't feel older but I've officially crossed over into my late twenties! I'm slowly approaching the 30's...yikes!

I had a great birthday!! I woke up to a sweet card that Caroline made me along with some presents from her and daddy! All the girls at work were sweet today and gave me goodies. Then when I got home, my wonderful parents were here waiting to take me to my favorite restaurant...Normans Landing! We had a yummy dinner:) Then we came back to our house and had an awesome cake that my mom bought me. It had cream cheese icing...my favorite! We let Caroline eat some of it and she LOVED it. She cried when I stopped giving it to her. She's got her mama's sweet tooth!
Here's a few photos of us at dinner!

Sorry mom and dad that I took a picture of you while you had food in your mouth!

My yummy cake!

Caroline is helping mommy blow the candles out...she thought she could use the practice since her birthday is next month!

Thank you Blake, Caroline, mom, dad, and friends for making this birthday a great one!
