Easter 2010

We had a wonderful Easter and hope that you and your family did as well! Blake and I loved the Good Friday service and it was SO wonderful to get out as a couple...we don't do that often enough:)

It was such a beautiful weekend and we soaked up every minute of it! On Saturday, Caroline and I even had our first mommy/daughter lunch...just the two of us! I look forward to many more lunches together. Even though we miss daddy a lot on Saturdays, it's really nice to have one on one time to be with Caroline. Blake gets his one on one time on Thursday and their days are always special together!

Here's what the Easter bunny left for Caroline...she got 3 books, a frog, new PJ's, and some easter eggs!

Here are some pics of us in Cleveland at my parents house after church. I didn't manage to get a great pic of all of us but we tried! The sun was so bright but I'll take sun anyday over rain:)

Caroline loved swinging in the swing that her grandma and grandpa bought her.

My mom fixed a wonderful dinner for all of us. We had honey baked ham, potato casserole, green beans, squash casserole, rolls, veggies, fruit, and carrot cake. Yes, she always over does herself and it was so yummy! After dinner, we went back outside to do an egg hunt with my niece and nephew. Caroline was too little to understand and she was more occupied with swinging. I forgot to take pics of the egg hunt...go figure! Blake and I had fun acting like kids when we were hiding the eggs! It was hard to go back to work today after such a wonderful weekend. Can't wait till Friday comes again.

Good Friday!

Blake and I are going to the Good Friday service at the Verizon Amphitheater tonight to here Louie Giglio speak and to enjoy a night of worship. We have been looking forward to this for awhile now. We wanted to go last year but if you remember there was a horrible storm last Good Friday so we ended up not going but everyone said it was amazing! So, I wanted to make sure not to miss it this year. Plus, it gives us a night out as a couple to focus on the most important person in our life...which is something that we struggle to do in our busy lives.

I can't wait to start this Easter weekend off with such a wonderful night and to remember what this holiday is all about. I thank God for dying on the cross for my sins, for my beautiful family that he has given me, and for a wonderful daughter. I pray that Caroline will grow up knowing the reason for Easter and not just the "fun" that comes with it.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful Easter weekend!!!

Easter Parade and Egg Hunt

Today, Caroline and I went to Cleveland to go to the Easter parade and egg hunt that was being held at Babyland. We had so much fun and it was a beautiful day...just a little chilly! My aunts and cousins came up to spend the day with us as well...it's always fun to spend the day with family! Here's some pics from our fun day!

Pre-Easter

So I thought it would be fun to take Caroline to see the Easter bunny today. Last year she was only 2 months old and she slept the entire time through visiting the Easter bunny. At Christmas she loved visiting Santa so I thought she would enjoy the bunny too. Well, I was wrong and here are the pics to prove it!

He is a big bunny so I don't blame her for being scared!!! Here's her Easter dress for this year. I got it last year on Clearance at Strasburg's going out of business sale! I think I ended up paying $20 for this dress and it was originally $85 so I consider it a bargin! Luckily I guessed the right size and it fits this year!

We also want to say Happy Birthday to Papa!!! We love you papa and hope you have a wonderful birthday on this beautiful day!

St. Patrick's Day Luck?!?!

I'm not sure if it's because it's St. Patrick's day or if it was the shoes I posted about in the post below BUT Caroline is now walking!!!! It's a night and day difference with her. I showed up at the daycare to pick her up and all of the daycare workers/owners were so proud to tell me that she walked around all day today. They couldn't wait to show me themselves so they got Caroline and had her walk to me. I was SO proud of her!!! And since we've been home she's been walking all over the place. She can take about 10 steps before she loses balance and falls forward. So, for any of you wondering if those stride rite shoes are worth the money...I would say they are!

Hoping it works!

I've had a ton of friends and family members tell me to try the Stride Rite shoes. Everyone swears they help your baby learn to walk faster. So, with all of my stress on getting Caroline to learn to walk I broke down and bought the $40 shoes that I swore I would never buy!!! To my advantage, they were having a buy one get one half off sale so she got 2 pairs! She had a blast picking them out and trying them on. Have I ever said how wonderful of a shopper she is??? Here's her new shoes that we picked out...

We'll see if they help her...but even if they don't she is at least stylish wearing them!!!

Life in the fast lane!!!

Our weeks are getting busier and busier by the minute. I feel like I barely have enough time to get everything done for the day and ready for the next day...much less blog about our day!!! So, here's yet another post to catch up on what we've been up too!

Last Thursday Blake's parents came over to celebrate "Grammy's" birthday! Caroline had fun entertaining her grandparents and showing them all of her new tricks! She even convinced her grammy into riding her around in her car.

Caroline has also discovered my cabinet in our bathroom. Everyday when I get home from work, we go upstairs so I can change clothes. While I was changing clothes, I noticed that Caroline was quiet (not a good sign for a toddler!). So, I peeped into my bathroom and found her doing this...

She is going to kill me for posting these when she gets older but I thought it was so funny so I ran and grabbed my camera! But now, it's become part of her everyday routine. She clears out all of my tampons and then gets out all of my nail polish, all of my lotions, etc. She will empty my cabinet until she has enough room to sit in there and hide!

Other news, Caroline is STILL not walking. I'm getting a little frustrated with it b/c all of the kids her age that used to be in her daycare room have moved up (b/c they are walking) so she's now left with a lot of 6m old babies. I feel like she's a little bored in that room and I would love for her to be moved up and to learn new things...but she can't be moved up until her feet get to walking. After much thought tonight, I have realized the reason why she probably isn't walking. She's been pulling up and standing and walking holding on to things for awhile now. But she has yet to want to let go and try walking. Tonight I realized the reason is probably ME. We don't get home until 6:15ish and then I cook dinner, we eat, get a bath and then she goes to bed by 7:30. So, I don't really spend any extra time teaching her how to walk. Tonight, we practiced after dinner and she took 2 steps by herself and was standing on her own more. Anytime she would fall down to crawl I would pick her back up. I hope that with lots of practice she will learn to walk SOON! I mean she's almost 14 months old so it's time!!!
