Pumpkin Carving Time!

We decided to carve our pumpkin tonight since we have something to do every night for the rest of the week. Have I mentioned yet that C hates Halloween? She hated the kitty costume that we ordered her and we ended up spending $10 just to ship it back. She really didn't like the pumpking farms...guess a lot of pumpkins sitting together looks scary to her. Well tonight was no different! Once Blake took the top off of the pumpkin and started pulling the "guts" out she started screaming. She wanted NOTHING to do with her pumpkin.

Before carving...

During carving...

Daddy carved the pumpkin all by himself while I gave Caroline a break from the madness and gave her a bath. After her bath, we showed her what the pumpkin looks like in the dark. She still hated it!!!!

But when we took it back outside, she decided that it wasn't so bad afterall!

Halloween was never a favorite holiday of mine either so maybe that's where she gets this from. Hopefully next year it won't be so scary for her!!!

Lazy Weekend

Caroline and I have had colds since last Wednesday so we spent the majority of this weekend being lazy and I loved it! We've been going and going lately and it was fun just slowing down and relaxing. We did manage to throw in some fun though...

On Thursday, Caroline went to visit Blake's grandmother. Caroline loves visiting her nana. Here they are playing the piano together.

Friday we went to Uncle Shuck's after work with our small group. We had a blast getting together, riding the hayride, and making smores at a bonfire. But it was quite cold and since we all weren't feeling well, we cut the trip short and came home and went to bed. Sorry no pics to show of our fun. The camera got left at home:(

(I took this picture this morning. The trees around our house are just looking beautiful these last few days! I love fall!)

Saturday Caroline and I were extremely lazy and took 2 naps! We also had a mommy/daughter date at Chick-Fil-A and then went to a baby shower for my friend Kim! We can't wait to meet baby Kate in a few weeks!

Today, we decided to skip church since C was up all night coughing and is STILL really congested. We laid around all day, made a trip to Wal-Mart, cleaned my car, played outside a bit, cooked chili, and played with toys. Caroline was getting hot this afternoon from running around so I put her hair up in a pony tail again. It's so stinkin cute! I took way too many pics but since I didn't take many all week, I thought I would put them all up tonight. I love that her face looks chubbier with a pony tail. I could just squeeze her I love her so much!

This weekend is just what we all needed as a family! We enjoyed being together all weekend and not having a to do list! I thank God for making us slow down and enjoy the things we take for granted everyday! I will miss Caroline dearly tomorrow as we start another week.

Pumpkin patch!

It was such a beautiful day on Sunday so we decided to take full advantage of the beautiful fall weather. We went out to eat at a great BBQ restaurant with my parents and then we headed to a pumpkin farm. We had a great time...well except for Caroline. She's a little scared of Halloween and large pumpkins. She cried at first but quickly warmed up to the pumpkins. We even got a HUGE deal and got 2 pumpkins for $5. We love deals in our house! Here's some pictures of our fun.

The place we went yesterday is also a produce stand so we picked up some cucumbers while we were there. Here's C being a big helper and holding the cucumbers while we waited in line to pay for them!

We will be going to a different pumpkin farm with our small group this week so look for those pictures later! Hopefully Caroline won't freak out this time.

Catching up!

I just realized that I didn't blog all week. It was a long week for us and unfortunately the blog got no attention. So, tonight I thought I would catch up! Last Sunday we went to a fundraiser for a litte girl who lives in Cumming and has stage 4 cancer. One of our friends started an awesome organization called Kingdom Kids. They are a non-profit organization that helps raise money for children with illnesses. So, they were doing a 5k run for this sweet girl and they invited us to come join the fun.

We got to the event around lunch time and C was already a little fussy. Well she had a meltdown when Blake and I wouldn't let her jump in the bouncy house because the bigger kids were in there. We knew she was exhausted because she didn't take a nap the day before plus she was hungry so we decided to leave early before another episode happened!!! Here's what she did before we even got on the road. To say she was tired is an understatement!!! She even fell asleep without a passy...which is a first!

This week was filled with work, eat, sleep...repeat 5 days! On Thursday, C got a flu shot and we were told that she'll need another one since we didn't do the H1N1 shot last year. Fun....already not looking forward to doing that again. After that, she got to spend time with Grammy Sue while mommy and daddy went to the Night of Worship at our church with our small group.

Today, we went shopping with my mom to look for an outfit for our Christmas pictures. I know...it's not even Halloween yet and I'm already preparing for Christmas! I'm a planner...what can I say! No really, we have pictues with Farrah the first weekend in November and I have the next two weeks booked up with things to do so we took advantage of this Saturday and went to find something. We ended up finding some great sales and had a fun girls shopping day! Miss C sported her new fall shirt today that Tara Rowell made for her and she looked just precious! (Tara's blog is on my blog list to the right) I forgot to get pics before we left the house so here's one when she got up from her nap.

Let me tell you how HARD it is these days to get a decent picture of her. She won't stand still for anything and my camera takes FOREVER to take a picture. So here are some out takes of me trying to get 1 decent picture! And she kept having a fit for her passy so to get a picture of her shirt, I caved in and let her have it.

That's about all I have to update...not much has been going on! Hopefully, I'll have more time this week to blog. I sure do miss it.

Cumming Fair

Last night we took Caroline to the Cumming fair.

We had a great time hanging out as a little family and getting to see the excitment on Caroline's face when she saw all of the rides.

Unfortunately, she wasn't big enough to ride hardly any of rides but we did manage to ride two of them. We rode the tea cups and the sky buckets!

They had a cute little petting zoo so she had a blast seeing all of the different animals.

We watched a bear show and then let Caroline play some games to win a souvenir. She played a little fishing game and won (with daddy's help!) so they told her to pick out a prize out of the bucket. It took her forever to decide which thing she wanted. She ended up deciding on a duck!

It was a great night and we can't wait to go back next year!
