Campmeeting 2010- Thursday

Thursday was a VERY busy day...as if the other days weren't busy enough!

Thursday morning started off with some sleepy heads....

Followed by fun singing and doing the activity for the morning...

After the morning activities, we decided to take a break from the heat and visit my granny and papa. Granny grows her own garden every summer and she filled us up with yummy tomatoes, cucumbers, and a TON of blueberries. After visiting them, we decided to grab some lunch at the local mexican restaurant.

Here's some funny pic of the kids in the car on the way back to the campground. I was asking them to make silly faces!

Thursday is always the Loudsville olympics so we rushed back to participate. The kids really enjoyed the olympics and each activity included getting wet which was nice since it was 100 degrees outside! Caroline even got to participate in the baby race and then enjoyed the swimming pool afterwards!

Then we relaxed, ate dinner and got ready for church.

After church, the campground paid for everyone to go cosmic bowling until midnight. So, to the bowling alley we went! It ended up just being Blake, Caroline, me and my parents. My brother and his family ended up taking the kids home for a nights rest since we all were tired!

That wraps up our very busy day!!!

Campmeeting 2010- Wednesday

Wednesday started off with the kids singing and learning about God.

(Caroline was teething really bad all week and constantly had her hands in her mouth!)

Then we played with sidewalk chalk...

Caroline found someone's beach ball and kicked it around for a little while.

Then she moved to the playground and had a blast sliding and swinging...

She got in a quick nap...

And then we rode on the hayride. On Wednesday the water activity is a hayride where the kids all pile in a big truck with hay and ride around the campground. While they ride around, everyone at their tents spray them with water. We weren't sure if Caroline would like getting sprayed with water but thought we would try it. Well, she didn't care too much for it. Maybe next year!

After the hayride, we were standing around eating watermelon and Caroline decided to climb up the ladder to go on the slide all by herself. Well she ended up taking a big fall. I ran over there to grab her up and she cried for a little while then she calmed down. So I put her back down to start walking to our tent and noticed that she would not put any weight on her legs. We checked them out and noticed that her knee was getting pretty swollen. So off to the immediate care we went. My mom went with us...thank goodness! When we got there she started to put more pressure on it so they determined that it was just a sprain. Praise the lord that nothing serious was wrong. Here we are waiting in the waiting room at the immediate care...

She was worn out after all of the drama with her knee..

That night, my mom was starting to get pretty worn out so she said she would take the kids home with her and give them baths and put them to bed early while Blake and I went to church. We were so thankful of her doing that b/c by Wednesday, it was getting pretty hard to get the kids to sit through church and this was the last night Doug would be preaching so I wanted to hear his message. Good thing we went to church b/c Doug ended up calling us out in his sermon! He was preaching about marriage and called on us to stand up in front of the crowd since he married us almost 4 years ago! Here we are before church...

(can you tell miss priss is WORN out????)

And here we are with my favorite preacher, Doug! We were all so hot. This had to have been one of the hottest campmeetings in a long time. Usually at night, it gets cooler...but not this time!

After church, Blake and I went to my parents house and we all stayed there for the night to take a break from the heat!

Campmeeting 2010- Tuesday

On Tuesday, the childrens program started. They do a children's program every morning at 9:00 and then a fun water activity at 1:00. Like I mentioned in my previous post, we ended up spending the night in our tent on Monday night. The tradition after church service at night is to play and hunt frogs. So that's just what we did. We played and played until after 11:00pm. Caroline usually goes to bed around 8:00 so you can see she was way past her bed time and then I had to wake her up in the morning in time to get her ready for the singing at 9:00am. It was busy like this all week long! Here's the kiddos trying to wake up and eating breakfast.

And here's some pics of them at the children's singing. Caroline loved it. She would dance her heart out and try so hard to keep up with the other kids. There are Christmas trees in the pics b/c they were learing about Christmas and Easter this year.

Every morning after singing, they would sit on the shavings and hear a bible story and do an activity. Here is Caroline with Kendall, Maddox, and Addi (the preacher's little girl). Let me stop here and say that Addi LOVED Caroline. She would play with her all day long. They had a blast together!

After singing and doing activites, we were so HOT. So, to help us cool off we ate popcicles and stripped Caroline down to her diaper and let her cool off in a pool.

That night we ate another delicious dinner that mom cooked and then got ready for church. Here's Caroline reading her bible that she had received in the children's program! She's starting early!

That pretty much wraps up our day! Blake arrived later that night and was able to be off for the rest of the week! We decided to stay at the tent that night too so it was another night that we didn't get to bed until midnight! Hunting frogs was fun and Maddox actually caught one that night!

Check back tomorrow for Wednesday photos!

Campmeeting 2010- Monday

Like I mentioned in my previous post, Blake and I worked on Monday so we didn't get to see Caroline much that day. I ended up getting off work early so that I could make it to the church service at campmeeting. Mom and dad kept Caroline all day for us. It seems as if she had a blast hanging out with her grandparents and her cousin Kendall. They played outside, went to the grocery store, took a nap, and went to a bakery for the best cupcakes I have ever eaten!

I got up there around 5:00 and we ate dinner and went to church. Suprisingly, all the kids sat through the entire service. I was especially excited about this service because the preacher that was preaching was the preacher that married Blake and I. He's a long time friend and I haven't seen him in 4 years. It was so nice to hear him preach and to see him and his family.

I had the rest of the week off so we decided to stay in our "tent" (aka cabin) that night. Almost all families stay up there all week long b/c they are from out of town but we have an advantage...my parents live 5 min away so we can chose if we want to stay in the non air conditioned tent or the air conditioned house!

Unfortunately, I have no pictures from Monday. Keeping up with Caroline that night was all I could do. I didn't even think of getting the camera out when I got up there. Our time went by so fast and before I knew it we were getting ready for bed. So, if you are looking for pictures (as I'm sure most of you are!) then you'll have to check back tomorrow. (I promise the rest of the posts will have a TON of pictures!)
