Fun weekend!

This past weekend we had lunch with grandma/granddaddy and Kendall at Normans Landing (our fav restaurant!)

We also went to a baby shower for our small group friend Blair (and baby Owen!). Our friends Kim and Hayes were at the shower too so Caroline and I had fun visiting with them too! We know that Caroline loves Hayes but she wasn't too into sharing with him. She was just playing hard to get!!!

On Sunday, my mom got Caroline a car (to stay at her house) just like the one Blake and I gave her for her b-day. We are at my parents house every weekend and Caroline loves riding on the push toys so my mom thought she would enjoy to have another car to play with when she visits grandma! Since daddy put the first car together, we thought he was the right person to put the 2nd car together. Caroline thought it would be fun to show daddy how to do everything.

After helping daddy, she thought she would help grandma finish dinner. Except she got too entertained with wearing the bowls instead of handing the bowls to grandma!

And after dinner, I was wiping Caroline's mouth and she decided to jerk her head and hit her head on the corner of the table. She was crying so hard she couldn't breathe. I felt so bad for her b/c I knew it hurt. This pic doesn't do justice for how bad her noggin looked. Luckily when she woke up this morning, it looked much better and only had a little bruise. I'm sure it's the first of many to come.

Temper Tantrums

Caroline is hitting the toddler stage and so is her temper! When she doesn't get what she wants at the moment, she has learned how to throw herself down on the floor and scream and cry until you give her the attention she is looking for. I'm not totally ready for this stage but ready or not...it's here! I still think she's the cutest thing..even when she is mad!

Catching up!

We had a fun yet busy weekend.

On Saturday, Caroline and I met up with our friends Kim, Hayes, Jodi and Kate at the Mall of GA. Here we are shopping in Old Navy racking up on all of the summer clothes that were on sale! All of the babies are within 2-4 months from each other. (The little boy, Hayes, is secretly Caroline's boyfriend!!!)

After shopping we came home to take a quick nap and then we went to Blake's parents house to eat dinner and visit. Here's Caroline showing off her walking skills.

My mother in law pulled out Blake's rocking horse from when he was a little boy. Caroline loved getting on/off of it riding it around the living room.

On Sunday, we went to Cleveland to visit my parents. Caroline had a good time taking everything out of grandma's cabinets...

And then she decided to help grandma cook the mashed potatoes for dinner that night...

Caroline finally took a break from cooking to watch the hockey game with daddy.

All in all, we had a wonderful weekend! It always so nice to visit with friends and family and we are so blessed that God has put such beautiful/wonderful people in our lives!

Needing advice!

So, I need advice on feeding Caroline. She's on all table food now, which is easier at times and tougher at times. The hardest part is what to feed her while she's at daycare. The room she's in right now still requires us to bring her food for the day and when she was on baby food and bottles, that was easy. But now that she's on table food, I feel like we send her with the same thing EVERYDAY. Her teacher told me that Caroline is tired of it and won't eat it anymore. For breakfast we take her yogurt, cereal, and a granola bar. For lunch we usually take her lunch meat, cheese, and either a fruit or a veggie. I have noticed myself lately that Caroline is getting tired of the lunch meat but will eat her fruit and cheese. So, I need ideas from all of you mommy's out there on what you feed your toddlers. At home we do a full homemade breakfast and then usually a grilled cheese for lunch or something like that but I can't take that kind of stuff to daycare...plus the amount of time to prepare that each night would be insane after cooking dinner for the night! SO, does anyone have any suggestions for me? I need things that are quick to prepare seeing that I don't get home till after 6 and have to prepare dinner, give her a bath, and then get everything ready for the next day. What do ya'll feed your one year olds???

Oh, and an update on the transition from bottle to sippy cup....Caroline is fully on a sippy cup now. We finally found out that the only sippy cup she likes is the Nubby cups. She's still not sure she likes the whole milk but she'll end up drinking it after she realizes she's not getting anything else. She doesn't drink as much as she did with the formula but at this point she's getting enough so I'm not too concerned!

I'm sooo glad tomorrow is Friday. This week has been a doozie for us and I'm ready to put it to an end!

Cousins

Every Sunday we all meet at my parents house for a "Sunday Dinner". We've done this for years and just LOVE it! Caroline loves to see her cousins, Kendall and Maddox. They like to push her on this John Deer car and Caroline would let them push her all day if they would. She cries anytime we make her get off. Here's some pics of them last night!

Wasn't the weather beautiful this past weekend??? We took full advantage of it and stayed outside all weekend. On Saturday we had lunch with friends and then hit up the outlet mall in Dawsonville. Then on Sunday while at my parents house, we washed my car to get all of the snow salt off of it. Here's a pic of Caroline showing off her shades. (*note, she did have pants on but they got food all over them when she had lunch so my mom had them in the dryer for us*)

Weekend recap!

On Saturday since it was so snowy and since Caroline had a little bit of congestion, we stayed home all day in our P.J's. It was a fun and relaxing day...which is just what we needed! While we were playing around in the living room, Caroline found a new hiding spot. She's learned how to open the doors to our entertainment system and pull everything out and crawl in and make herself at home!

On Sunday after church we had my parents over for lunch to celebrate my mom's birthday. Caroline was extremely fussy all day Saturday and again on Sunday. She is getting a mouthfull of teeth and she let us know that she was not happy about it. She's also having a little bit of trouble with her belly from switching to whole milk so with that plus the teething she was a mess. None the less, she had a good time entertaining her grandparents and celebrating her grandmothers birthday! My mom was tearing off little pieces of cupcake for Caroline to eat and Caroline grabbed the entire cupcake out of her hand and just smashed it in her mouth...I think she has my sweet tooth! The 2nd pic is so cute because my dad was trying to steal her cupcake and she kept shoving it in her mouth quicker so that he wouldn't eat it!

Mom's birthday, Snow and Video!

Today is my mom's birthday!!! My Mom is such a special person to me and I love her with all of my heart! She loves winter so I was happy that it snowed on her birthday!!! Here are some pics of Caroline working on a birthday sign for her grandma. She did a good job coloring it but not a good job holding it so that mom could take a pic of it. Oh well...you get the gist! And here are pics of Caroline looking out of the door at the snow and we even let her get out there for 5 minutes to get a close up view of it. She loved looking at it from the inside and was so funny...she would look at it and then look at me with the biggest smile and then she would just scream and jump up and down! I think she approves it:) I love snow and was so glad that we got at least one good snow in this year! It was even nice to get out of work 3 hours early...but the traffic trying to get home was another story! And finally, here is a funny video of Caroline. My in-laws came over last night to visit and they spoiled Caroline by riding her around and around in her new car. She could ride for hours! She was just laughing and talking her head off!
